讲座通知|12月22日如何兼顾工作和家庭：中国周工作时间减少的性别反应差异

   China implemented its workweek reduction policy in 1995, shortening work days from 6 to 5 per week without reducing wage payment. Exploiting a Difference-ln Differences strategy, we find that both men and women decreased their labor supply. This workday reduction caused an immediate improvement in women's health status by alleviating sleep deprivation and decreasing work-related injuries. At the same time, we find that women became more leaning in toward the family while men tended to exploit such free time to acauire more education and earn an advantage in the labor market.
