In order to promote research in the field of Chinese development, China Center of Economics for Human Development intends to fund individuals and research institutions to carry out research on topics as growth intervention, psychological development, capacity development and labor market performance throughout the life cycle. The characteristics of the subsidy are mainly “annual short-term projects”. The winning research institutions or individuals should complete the project within one year and submit the research results. Through the Central Academic Committee and expert advice and the Center's deliberation, 10 funded research projects for bidding in 2018 were identified. For each research project of 40,000 yuan, the project funds will be distributed to individual accounts.
Name of the proposed bidding project:
1. Tracking research and policy recommendations for kindergarten outcomes (study performance, height, cognitive ability, non-cognitive ability, etc.)
2. Tracking research on nutrition improvement effect of rural compulsory education students/Effects of early childhood nutrition on development of children's cognitive ability/non-cognitive ability in poverty-stricken areas
3. Interaction between student cognition and non-cognitive ability development
4. Family planning and child development
5. Research on the impact of left-behind children's ability development
6. Study on the relationship between environmental enteropathy and early childhood development
7. Research on multi-dimensional poverty measurement system for early childhood (0~35 months old) in rural areas of China
8. Research on the effect of vocational education ability training
9. Old-age care system and old-age health
10. Research on old age inequality of the aging population

The deadline for submission of bids is May 5.
Individuals and organizations with certain research foundations and strengths are welcome to bid, especially those who are familiar with major practical issues and familiar with modern economic analysis methods. Successful applicants will be awarded the title of “Special Research Fellow of CCEHD”. They can use this title to conduct research activities during the project period and get the opportunity to cooperate with CCEHD experts.
